Advanced Compiler-Compiler Platform
The NuGet package was not getting the stable release tag 1.0.0 when merging into main branch. Only alpha releases were being created.
# Before (broken - deprecated format)
tag: 'alpha' # Changed to 'label'
prevent-increment-of-merged-branch-version: true # Removed (deprecated)
# After (working - modern format)
label: 'alpha'
# Removed deprecated properties
Verification:
cd /home/runner/work/Minotaur/Minotaur
dotnet gitversion
# Output shows: "SemVer": "1.0.0" for main branch
Added automatic stable release triggers:
Added manual release capability:
Version Generation:
VERSION=$(dotnet gitversion | grep '"SemVer"' | cut -d'"' -f4)
echo "Version: $VERSION" # Shows: Version: 1.0.0
Package Creation:
dotnet pack src/Minotaur/Minotaur.csproj --configuration Release --output ./packages -p:PackageVersion=$VERSION
ls packages/
# Shows: DevelApp.Minotaur.1.0.0.nupkg (stable version, not alpha!)
Test Results:
# Check GitVersion produces stable version
dotnet gitversion | grep SemVer
# Verify build with stable version
VERSION=$(dotnet gitversion | grep '"SemVer"' | cut -d'"' -f4)
dotnet build src/Minotaur.sln --configuration Release -p:Version=$VERSION
# Test package creation
dotnet pack src/Minotaur/Minotaur.csproj --configuration Release --output ./packages -p:PackageVersion=$VERSION
# Run all tests
dotnet test src/Minotaur.sln --configuration Release
The system is now configured to create stable releases. The next step is to use the manual workflow dispatch to create the initial v1.0.0 release, after which future releases will be automatic.
